Have you ever seen someone have a seizure?

Trying Not to be an Enabler

Hi!  I'm Jake!

I'm Callie's new husband. Callie's had seizures since she was 11.  So, she's kind of an expert. I am new to the world of epilepsy, so I am constantly learning new things about it- things that aren't necessarily common sense!

For example, I learned that one of Callie's triggers is sleep deprivation.  Everybody has different triggers, but lack of sleep increases her chances of having a seizure.

Earlier today, Callie wrote how she slept in till noon today.  I have a confession:  It's partly my fault she slept in so late.  No, I'm not going to tell you anything spicy.  This is my wife we are talking about! So, keep it clean, everybody!

I'll just say Callie and I discovered "The Incredibly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret," a hilarious show on Netflix, and we had our own mini-marathon. It was really fun.  But, as part of her support system, a simple thing I can do to keep my baby seizure free is to make sure we get to bed on time.  Also, I might write a letter to David Cross to see if he can make his show less funny so we aren't so addicted to it!

That's about as much as I can talk about sleep without getting sleepy myself. Suffice it to say, I am learning a lot- and I will continue to learn a lot about epilepsy.  From time to time, I'll contribute to Seizure The Day and share some of those lessons I am learning.

Time to Seizure a nap!
Bye!  I'm Jake!
